Brochbarbaroch, the story

The journey started 9 years ago. I was 20 years old and wanted to make a game. I come up with an ide that I thought would be a success. I later realized that making a game that would be a success was harder then I could have imagine. At the time of writing this I don’t know if the game will be a success. Please let me know guys!!!

This part was extremely time consuming and it took me around 3 month to fix.

Finishing the game, the first time around.

Now I fast forwarding 1 and 3/4 years into the development. I was getting ready for the release. The game was called Wet Worlds back then and I had so high hopes for the game. I had this Facebook page with over 4500 followers. This was how the game looked like back then.

The design was good. Everything was ready.

I released it and 500 people downloaded it but they uninstalled it. What was wrong with the game I thought?

A cluster fuck of ides

Fast forwarding around 5.5 years. The game was released a long time ago and as you know it did not sell. An absolute success. Success because we all learn from our failures. It was a cool game but it did not have a red thread. It had was different ides coming together to form some kind of sauce of poo. People did not get what was happening.

With this in mind I started working on the same title again. But this time with the goal to make it more easily understandable. Because I already hade the design and all the graphics, I finished the game in 2 months(I was also a lot more experienced).

I released the game, and to no surprise, the game flopped again. I thought, fuck, here we go again.

This time I had a new ide. I wanted to make the game like story. So I developed a story that I thought would be interesting. I started a twitter page and got some followers. But when I later released the trailer I got no likes. It would have probably flopped. I did not release this game.

2022

I am making this new game iteration with one more person. When I was developing the story I found a new interesting way of playing. This was something that I thought could be something, but I did not know. I rebranded and called the game Brochbarbaroch.

The game was an arcade like game and your goal was to kill brochbarbaroch. It was going to be something I calle a semi multiplayer game. It is turned based, so you don’t have to wait for a player to play. Everything is handled by the server. If the server don’t find you a opponent in under a minute, there server will start playing with you.

I also did some updated to the graphics. Here are some images.
